Hello! My name is Sophie Armstead and I have joyfully been a part of Acorn since 2017!

I have a BA in French, a Masters in Education and am a Certified Wilderness Skills Educator. My years working outside the home have included jobs as a fifth grade teacher, a preschool teacher, as well as the owner of a small creative handmade business. I also spent ten very rewarding years staying home with my own children, now ages 20 and 16. Spending time in the woods and fields with a group of preschoolers is an amazing way to make discoveries and raise interesting questions! I spend my days to Acorn with a bubbling sense of excitement, wonder, and gratitude for nature. It is my joy to share this with children as they work on finding meaning and connections in the world. I look forward to being a part of your children’s investigation, discovery and play!
