We recognize that this may be a whole new way of thinking about dressing your child. Please be assured that your child will be comfortable and the adjustment is quick! For more information about Acorn gear (recommended brands, where to shop for discounts, and other additional guidance) please reach out to the Acorn team.
Because quality gear can be expensive, enrolled families are welcome to make use of the “Acorn Clothing Library.” Families using this options are asked to either contribute outgrown gear to the collection or pay a sliding scale fee.
If wearing dresses or skirts is important to your child and/or they are an Afterschool student who feels more comfortable wearing “traditional” clothing during their elementary school day, one strategy is for them to wear such items on top of a base layer. That way, when heading outdoors at Acorn, the dress, skirt, jeans etc. can just be removed and mid-layers/waterproof layers put on.
